Becoming a Featured Artist

HOW TO BECOME A FEATURED ARTIST

Spectrum would like to create opportunities for clay artists to showcase the work that they have done with our products. The Featured Artist section of our Home Page is a way for anybody working in clay, including potters, hobbyists, teachers, students, etc., to expose their work to a wider audience. We will also be using some of the Featured Artists works in our magazine advertising and promotional posters.

If you would like to participate in the Featured Artist program, send the information requested below to either of the following addresses:

Information Required:

1. Your mailing address, phone number, fax number, email address (if available)

2. Images of the pieces you would like us to consider for the program. The images can be slides, prints (preferably enlargements) or digital images on diskette or emailed to richard@spectrumglazes.com. These will not be returned.

3. A detailed description of how the pieces were created, including the products used, how the products were applied and at what stage (i.e. greenware, bisque) plus the firing schedule used at each stage.

4. A biography of yourself focussing on your work in ceramics, but including other relevant information.

5. If you are selected to be a Featured Artist, indicate whether you are willing to give us a sample of your work to be used in our showroom and/or in our trade show booth display. This is not a requirement of the program, but is an opportunity to get your work in front of people. Each piece will have a sign indicating who made it and how to contact you (upon your consent).

Selection for inclusion in the Featured Artist program will be solely at the discretion of Spectrum Glazes Inc. This is not a contest and there are no fixed criteria for the selection process.
